i need help guys....an ever popular VATS question...
does anyone know how to replace the VATS box with a 50-60 Hz generator....or infact where to get a a generator, or if I actually replace the box with the generator....I have got absolutely no clue, and I think that is one of my last options other than going to the gm dealer..$$$..

you would also need to bypass the starter disable relay.

Well, if you know your old resistor and want to disable VATS (I don't know why, it's dead easy to steal these cars even with a starter kill and an alarm, the fuel rail kill makes all the difference) you could just solder the right value resistor between the two wires that go up into your steering column. Personally, I'd replace the thing.
Unless of course your box is broken. Then I'd scavenge it out of a j/y. Shouldn't cost more than $20 if you pull it yourself, and then you just need to find which resistor you need.

well, I've already bypassed the starter relay....I just need that generator then I need to know how to put it in.
The only reason I want to do this is because I do not have the keys to this car, I bought the car for real cheap, because it does not have keys.
