3 Mystery Boxes Behind Dash
So I have three boxes behind the dash and am removing all the unnecessary wring since Airbags, A/C, Heat, BOSE System, and EFI are all gone!! I think the silver one is to the airbags so it can go, one says pass key on it so its staying, and the other I am completely clueless as to what it does...VATS maybe?

Sounds good. I no longer have cruise either so I guess 2 out of the three can go!
One last thing...can the two ECM connectors near these boxes be cut and all the wiring removed as well since I'm carb?

I don't see why not .... I wouldn't just start cutting the derm wires if the airbag is still in the car though!!!!!! The DERM can inflate the air bag even several minutes after the battery is disconected .... I'm not a expert on this maybe someone else can better advise you on this subject.

I know this is off-topic but WTF does an ad on an AUTOMOTIVE website full of DUDES say "Pregnant and Confused? Find help through adoption Gladney Center for Adoption". Somebody f***ed up!
On topic: some of the wires in the C207 connector (the two by the ECM) carry signal into the dash. I'd recommend finding out which wires do what and cut accordingly. Do you have a C207 pinout?

Just to be safe i wouldnt just start cutting. Im going threw all of this right now, and im just going to un-plug and leave things. Just zip tie the wires up in the dash somewhere.

Re: 3 Mystery Boxes Behind Dash
take out the air bad fuse and find the wires and cut them. make sure that there is no static electricity on or near the cutters or you. I know not likely but i know a guy that did one and he could not use a magnetic screw driver to take the bag out. They can be scary and dangerous, so strap some pillows to your body and wear a helmet..... or just be careful. or better yet get the mother in law to cut them.

Re: 3 Mystery Boxes Behind Dash
Airbag is long gone.
I did a lot of cutting and towards 3am I started getting tired but I THINK I;m okay. I pretty much cut and removed most of the rest of the BOSE wiring, the cruise wiring with its box and the airbag wiring with that box.
The ECM connectors were unplugged in the last motor fire up and everything seemed fine but most all of the wires going to the connectors.

Re: 3 Mystery Boxes Behind Dash
Dont ya just hate that mess behind the dash? Going through all that has got to be the most aggrivating part of this project. As of now im just kinda avoiding it at all cost...but i still know its all there and something has to be done about it Im about half way through all of it. The computer and all that wiring in the engine bay has been gone. Its a pain in the *** because you have to make sure you leave all accessory wiring and the wiring you need that goes to the starter.

Re: 3 Mystery Boxes Behind Dash
Yea I hate clutter...maybe slightly OCD. It feels so good knowing what isn't behind the dash anymore but I still didn't get all the wires out I wanted to. Now I have a ton of room for whatever I want behind the dash.

Re: 3 Mystery Boxes Behind Dash
My car is a prime example of this...any bracket not used got cut off, any wire not used got removed (well, except for the ones behind the dash I couldn't get), there is nothing visible in the bay, fenders have been smoothed etcetc. Right now I'm going for the same idea in the interior hence the mystery box question!
