Sequential Turn Signals - Round 3

Sequential Turn Signals thread

Well....7 people have already expressed themselves as IN...

1. 2001GAGT
2. intruder
3. ram88gta (local on ATGO)
4. sadeks8
5. knight07
6. bigmacz
7. bigmacz

...and a couple of others have asked, but not said IN.

All the Camaro & '91/'92 Firebird wiring issues have been resolved, and was easier than expected. So if you Camaro guys wanna do the amber to red conversion, the STS conversion would be easy to do! I'm still waiting to see a Camaro with STS....

These are UNIVERSAL and can put on any car ... Impala SS or Caprice ..... Mustang .... Cougar ...You name it. Only requirement is 2 or 3 bulbs per side, obviously.
Three more IN, and we can get Round 3 started! $50 shipped in the lower 48, international shipping no problem.

Re: Sequential Turn Signals - Round 3

Im tearing down my black n gold 87 T/A for a repaint this month. Since Im taking the whole rear fascia apart; Im 110% in. It will have to be a M.O. however; since I had my identity stolen through PP.

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

Well, it looks like we're a go!

With a local guy in at #9...NatesZ/28 at #10, and an email from another forum, that pushes us over the 10 mark.

I can take Paypals to SteveCranford@Austin.rr.com or a M.O. PM me for my street address.

I'll take Personal Checks, but the check with be deposited, and held for 7-10 days, before I ship the STS unit out, to ensure that the Personal Check clears OK.

I will ship the same day as payment arrives, and according to others, they arrive within a week, it looks like.

Names will be re-number ordered, based on payment received. First to pay, gets the first unit, #2 to pay get #2, etc.

No new holes. If you have single filament bulbs, which the amber sections are, you simply need to cut a few wires, get dual filament sockets, easily available at Autozone/Pep Boys etc., then replace the stock sockets with new sockets.

For Camaros, '91/'92 Firebirds, & base TAs with the standard tail lights, there will be a couple of wires to cut & splice under the dash. But that was easier to "fix" than originally expected. The instructions will be clear on addressing these issues.

hey stephen, I never got around to letting you know that i got mine and the package/unit were in good shape. I may be interested in buying another one from you to put on my camaro, but am alittle reluctant to convert the amber to red. I'll think it over and pm you if i decide to get another one.

Re: Universal Sequential Turn Signals - Round 3

I'll send payment early friday morning. Since I live an hour from Canada; it may take awhile so Im probably gonna be pretty far down the list, but that doesnt bother me since its probably gonna snow most of Feb.
Stephen, this is a great mod and affordable too. Thanks much

IMHO, you'll like the amber conversion even better after it is done. I never understood why the GTAs got all red, while Camaros and TAs got ambers. But I like it!

C'mon man...YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!

I'm game for Paypal or M.O. I put names on the list they pay in. We're not in any danger of selling out right now, but you can Paypal to SteveCranford@Austin.rr.com or PM me for an address to send the M.O. to.

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

Circuit board production has begun and parts are on the way as well.
I expect we'll be sold out by the end of February, judging from how fast the last batch disappeared.

Cool! VERY few people ever share a video of their STS, after installation. Always nice to see another car out there!

BTW....Your 3rd brake light is out! LOL

Sorry for the dumb question but how's this work on a 93-97 bird? Could I get a copy of the instructions uploaded here or something?

The STS units are universal, so they'll work on ANY car, just as long as it has 2 or 3 bulbs, per side, to light up. These are not F-body specific. I've even seen this system on a Dodge Dakota front turn signal, that uses 2 bulbs per side, under their front amber lenses.

As for a 93-97 'bird, I don't know anything about the wiring, so you'd hafta determine which wire does what. But, universal install instructions are included.

As I've posted before...I'm currently taking the pre-paid orders via Paypal (SteveCranford@Austin.rr.com) or M.O. (PM me for the address), and will be shipping STS units out in the order of payments received. I currently have 6 paid via Paypal, and have had PMs of 3 M.O. in the mail.

No 3rd brake light on a 88? I guess you had a wrap-around & ditched the light when you ditched the spoiler?

i believe the previous owner got rid of them when they replaced the deck lid. because my glass had the tabs for the wraparound but no holes in the deck and no bondo either. i wish i had the spoiler and light but i bought this car for $300 3 years ago man you dont exactly pick what you get with it. i am going to atleast get another wrap around for it though i think in the future. but love them sts. thank you again

Go with an OEM 4th gen rear wing. $100 or less easily, and it only took about 3 hours to drill new holes, extend the center 2 posts, and weld my old holes shut

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

Not sure if you can answer this but if I get this, do I need to put a new plug and light on my outter light since it's only a single filament bulb or whatever? I'd assume so if I want it to work at night ...

For a full conversion, yeah. Otherwise, you'd have 2 (per side) as running & brake/turn lights and 1 (per side, the outer) that is either running only, or brake/turn only.

Some have used used sockets (I did) and some people buy new ones. Dorman makes them, and you can get them at Autozone, Pep Boys, etc.

Ah that's cool. Just what I thought. Looks like all the parts I can buy from advance auto. for around $20. Looking forward to doing this.

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

When I did mine, I couldn't find the Dorman socets anywhere (not even sure they were available then) so I had to buy a whole tail light harness, ad hack off 2 sockets, so I had 2 spares.....2 more I didn't need, plus the side marker sockets, wiring etc.

I KNOW I do, it would be a matter of finding them though. I'm moving at the end of this month, so a lot of stuff is already packed. I'll look for them, but brand new Dormans are $5-$7, depending on the store. I can buy them and ship them, but I'll round up to the next dollar, for my time and gas.

If you (or anybody) wants them, I can go get them & ship then too.

Don't worry about it then. I'll probably have to go buy some wiring for it so I'll have to make a trip to the store anyway.

Bryan from Rio Rancho, NM.....

I can put you at #8, but you didn't include anything BUT the M.O.. No sheet of paper indicating what the money is for, no screen name, or anything. So I have no way to PM you on getting it. I can only assume it was a STS you wanted, as I'm parting out the 89 GTA, so I have other things for sale, and other "orders".

Please PM if it was a STS that you wanted. Otherwise, I can only assume it was what you "ordered", and that's what you'll be getting in the mail.

EDIT: Looking through PMs, I found a Bryan from Rio Grande, NM. Please PM me that a STS is what you wanted, or what it was, since there is nothing in the PM indicating STS or GTA parts.

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

I actually thought about it. Too bad the only bone yard near here is run by *******s who would probably make me buy the whole tail lights. Not a very good yard anyhow. Only found one 85 Camaro (Which had all GREAT body parts and mint interior) There was a firebird in the yard afaik but you can't really get to it. I had to cut down bushes just to open the door to the Camaro.

Cash? What's that? I've HEARD of it, but....

I don't mind cash, no. But I, myself, wouldn't wanna put cash in the mail. You local?

If somebody sees cash through the envelope, you can pretty much kiss it goodbye.

Any Wal Mart, HEB, Albertson's (grocery stores) can do Money Orders. Or your bank certainly can. Everybody charges a small fee for them, but they are safer than cash. If somebody besides me cashes it, there is a paper trail to find out who stole & cashed it.

Your choice!

Well, I do have Generic Install instructions, but you'd be on your own, as for identifying which wire does what. Not that that would be too difficult. Just follow a wire...

Re: Universal Seqqential Turn Signals - Round 3

You should be fine with mailing cash if you enclose it within paper. Money orders can usually be had for like 89 cents at your local gas station/mini market or even a bank. The gas stations are cheaper I'd assume. I'd just send it first class if you want to do that since if you wrap it in paper, it won't be noticable.

I don't know if you need an account to get one at a bank, but mine charges like $2-3 to get one but I guess that's because it's mainly for big monies since I think the gas station ones are only good up to a certain ammount or they most likely won't accept anything over a 20 or 50.

I'd get a bank account though. Paypal is fun to use if you get one.
