RFID locks/ignition
So i read through this post, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...n-starter.html, and so it got me thinking. I want to confirm some of the things I read in there. 1) Is it possible/practical to take out the lock cylinder in the steering wheel column and remove the piece(s) that keep(s) the steering wheel from turning when the keys aren't inserted? Will I be able to reinstall the lock cylinder and be able to start the car with my keys? 2) Can you bypass the VATS by splicing in a resistor of the same resistance as your key's resistor?
What I want to do is get a RFID reader that will unlock the doors when the RFID tag comes within range and also close the circuit from a switch/button to the ignition system. Then all I have to do is push the button to start. I also, however, want to have the option of using my keys for both unlocking doors and starting the car.
