Tach not reading right RPM?

I switched to a carbed 350 from the tbi 305 engine and now my tach reads 750 rpms when my timing light reads 500? What do i need to do to fix this issue?
Thanks

Re: Tach not reading right RPM?

Stock tachometers tend to go bad anyway. I would replace the entire tach.

Re: Tach not reading right RPM?

No need to rice up your car with extra tachs, you can just fix the old one. There are multiple threads on the topic in this section, just search.
