Ignition Control Module

Yesterday I had just bought my 87 Trans Am GTA and it was a beauty. Any way on the way home, about 3/4 of a 200 mile trip (rough estimation) the engine just died, no sputtering no nothing just cut out. I got a tow home and the driver of the tow truck said, its gotta be the ICM. After testing for spark at the plugs and the coil and having no luck we decided to swap out the ICM. Found 3 of them at auto-zone and VOILA! It worked like a charm. One crank and she was going. Thank god for that tow truck driver. He said he owned 7 of third gen T.A.'s and in each one he owned that part went bad.

Re: Ignition Control Module

Be sure and use the correct plugs (AC Delco) and make sure they are gapped properly. DO NOT use platinum plugs and for God's sake don't use Bosch plugs.
