Hows it going? I've been strongly considering upgrading my puny CS-130 alternator for a heavy duty CS-144 unit for some time now. I read on a few threads here that you can use a 1991-1996 chevrolet carpice alternator bracket or a one from a B4C Camaro but are hard to find. I think I might of gotten lucky as I found a power steering/alternator bracket (serpentine) off a '93 caprice a couple of months ago at my local JY. The alternator support itself is much wider allowing for what appears to be a clean installation of the CS-144 with no modifications. In this thread: http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/el...t-cs144-2.html (What's needed to put in a CS144 alternator ?), you can see pics of the whole assembly as posted by member "TheScaryOne" only he is using the needed seperate larger bracket to mount to the existing alternator bracket for installation of the CS-144 alternator. The bracket I came across is similar only its 'one-piece', I attached a couple of pics to show what I'm talking about. Anyone know where I can find new bolts to fit this type of alternator/bracket?
Thanks in advance,
Phoenix
