i think its electrical but dont know so sorry if its in the wrong place but would anyone be able to tell me why my gas gauge doesnt work it stays on full all the time and never moves any ideas would help THANK YOU
Sounds like either a bad fuel pump sending unit in the tank, bad guage, or bad connection between the two. The only way to really test it out would be to drop the tank and play with the float level by hand while checking the readings on a multimeter. Not a fun task, been there before.
Here is my much easier way to find out if it’s a bad gage.
Test the fuel gage by disconnecting the sensor line and connect a 47Ω resistor from the point you removed the sensor line, and connect the other end of the resistor to ground.
Turn the key on RUN.
If the gage indicates approximately half full the gage is good.
Therefore the problem should be the sender.

If People Drove Any Slower They’d Be Going Backwards
Fog lights are not driving lights. They look doofy. Turn em off slow pokes.
How bout those nervous nellies too scared to drive without headlights on in the daytime or if there is a little rain!
Pull the gauge bezel and make sure its not pegged off the gauge, my temp gauge was pegged all the way off the gauge and I thought it was the sender so I put in a new 1 and nothing and when I put my leds for my gauges in I found the needle was stuck off the side so I bent the outer edge like a taco and now it works! ; )
