Fuel pump problem

my 1985 camaro has been sitting for awhile, recently i went to start it and realized i had no fuel. i dont hear the fuel pump kicking on is there anyway to test fuel pump without dropping the gas tank or can anyone think of other possible reasons for it to not work?

Yes, there is a way to jump it on the ALDL connector, or you can jump it at the fuel pump relay. There is a sticky that links you to 1985 and 1986 wiring diagrams... in the articles section on the main page, I believe...

OOPS... just checked there, and the link doesn't work. I recommend buying a repair manual. The diagrams you need should be in there.

do you know which hole i use on the aldl to check or will i mess something up if i use wrong hole

Prime Time

There is a Fuel Pump Prime Connector for testing the pump.

It’s located near the right rear of the engine compartment.

It’s a one wire (18 AWG
red wire) connector poking out of the harness.

It’s not plugged in to anything.
