Ok i just bought a firebird(january) and it has an electronic sealing hatch lid. When i bought the car the fuse was burnt out so the trunk looked partially opened. Replaced the fuse and after a couple of uses the fuse blows. replaced it again and the fuse blew again. The guy I bought it from had installed multiple amps which were removed but the wiring is still there so there is a ground wire coming from what i think is the electronic lid mechanism could that have anything to do with it?

otherwise does anybody know/have this problem?

I'm going to make a couple of guesses here.
The motor would be powered all the time so it can close the hatch. Keeping this in mind If there is a bare spot in the wire vibration from driving could cause the fuse to blow.

If there is a bad connection in the wiring to the motor the added amp draw from the bad connection could cause it.

A bad motor that's pulling to many amps could also do it.

Do a current draw test on the motor, If it's OK Check the wiring for cuts and rub spots. Check your connectors for discoloration and check your grounds. The added wiring from the amps might have caused the wire to rub a hole in the insulation if they run next to each other.
