light sockets and grounding questions
Hey everyone,
I have a new EZ body harness (I could not afford the painless 18 circ)... It comes with everything except ground wires and light sockets.
I Have 2 new H4 sockets for the head lights.
I need to know what kind of sockets to use for all the other lights use (I have no wiring at all). I am looking to get everything new btw.

Question 2,
Below is a pic of the new body harness. Also everything in the harness. I ran the wires but I have no idea what needs to be grounded and what dose not.
I just got a 100-foot roll of 12-gauge stranded Machine Tool Wire (black) -- this stuff is gasoline & oil resistant. It should work fine for grounding wires... Now I just need to know what wires need grounding
DASH WIRING
---------------------------
Gauge pwr = red/white
Oil sending = LT blue/black
L signal ind = LT blue
H beam ind = LT green
R Signal ind = Blue
Temp sending = green
Fuel Gauge = Pink
Tachometer = purple/white
headlight pwr = red/black
Instrument PNL LGT = brown
LT Park - Brown
LH beam - green
LR Beam = tan
FRONT WIRING
------------------
Fan = gray/white
RF sig = blue
LF sig = LT blue
LF park = brown
LL beam = tan
LH beam = LT green
Horn = green
Pwr Antenna = purple/black
RH beam = LT green
LR beam = tan
RF park = brown
TAIL WIRING
----------------
LT park = brown
RR turn = green
LR turn = Yellow
EL fuel pump = yellow/white
Trunk light = green/black
third brake = orange
dome light = white
RT park = brown
License PLT = brown
Fuel gauge = pink
GM ENGINE WIRING
------------------------
ALT excitor= white
ALT power = red
Oil sending = LT blue/black
Coil POS = Pink
Tachometer = Purple/white
Choke = red
Temp sending = LT green
AC compressor = black/white
IGN SW start = Purple
Solenoid pwr = red

Re: light sockets and grounding questions
I started by separating the engine wires from everything else (as stated above). Everything is already terminated to the fuse block. After that I started running the wires.
Tail and engine wires where ran through the hole on the passenger side of the car. You can see where the door wiring was cut.
All dash wires pulled to the cluster area.

Re: light sockets and grounding questions
www.sylvania.com will list all the bulbs for every light, thus you'll know what sockets to get. Why can't you use the sockets you had?

Re: light sockets and grounding questions
thanx a lot!!! car was stolen from the owner before me. when he got it back the harness was all hacked up. That's the reason he sold it to me. The thief didn't take the time to uninstall anything. nearly all the wiring for the lights where cut off at the socket. I got lights from the junk yard, but the harnesses where in bad shape...
I tried to re-work the body harness, but it was soooo bad (and there was a good deal of aftermarket goodies). I couldn't make heads or tails of anything...
