Turn Signals really slow when flashing

Ok guys, kinda weird here. When I put on my left turn signal the "FLASHING" on and off sequence is really long. like maybe 5 seconds between intervals. When I turn the RIGHT turn signal on it is a little faster maybe 3 seconds or so but still way to long.

Funny enough the HAZARDS flash just fine.

Any idea what this could be?

thanks everyone.

Did you make sure the side marker lamp is also blinking when you checked the front and rear bulbs?

YES. All lights flash. Although at the same slow speed.

OK due to fact you report all bulbs good and illuminating, a cause could be different brands of bulbs or dirty contacts, both possible problems can be simultaneously addressed by swapping left and right side bulbs and checking for dirty contacts.

After the swap if the right side is slower than the left, the problem is difference in the bulbs.

If the problem persists but they are all blinking adequately bright, you can replace the blinker with an electronic blinker.

The electronic blinker will blink at the same correct speed regardless of any imbalances in your circuit.

Thanks NINA - I will try this method. However if I do have to install and electronic blinker, where do I get one and how would I install such a thing?

An electronic blinker can be purchased at any well stocked auto parts outlet.

Merely unplug the present blinker then plug in the electronic one.

The turn signal blinker is clipped onto the fuse panel, as delivered from the factory.

However if it has been replaced it might just be hanging in the maze of wires.

It’s round and approximately 1¼” diameter.

The Fuse Panel is located behind a door which is up and to the left of the brake pedal.
