Turn signals and Hazard light issues
Ok so I'm having some lighting issues with an 87 IROC I'm restoring. When I turn the passenger side turn signal on all is fine but when I turn the driver side on the hazards come on. I have checked all fuses and wiring. changed turn signal relay and redid grounds. Any ideas?

Re: Turn signals and Hazard light issues
When you removed the turn signal flasher (NOT a relay), did you try the blinkers? Did either side work? (I assume neither does)
If you remove the hazard flasher (in the convenience center), do you still see the same problem? (I assume you do)
I would lean toward a malfunctioning multi-function turn-signal switch in the steering column. But please check the two points I asked above to make sure.
Let us know what you find.

Thanks Lou. Yes I did both of these. That was next plan of attack. I was just hoping not to have to dig into the column. Oh well it'll will be FUN!. I'll let you know what I find.

Not sure if this will help, but it's quick and easy...I had problems with my turn signals (inside and out) and cancelling cam...took steering wheel off and the turn signal switch seemed loose...tightened the 3? screws and BAM..everything worked.

Well found the problem. When my teen age son replaced the front driver side turn signal bulb he use the wrong one. Add the junk in the socket and bam short. cleaned and replaced with 2 way bulb no more issues.

Ohhhh, that is a good one!
I am thinking now that what you saw originally was not hazards flashing but instead the park lamps flashing (which could be explained with a bad connection in the driver front socket). The flashing would appear identical to hazards, except slightly dimmer.
Thanks for the follow-up, it always helps.
