Fusible Link Replacement

I am posting this since I had the problem and I have seen a lot of threads (through my research) that involve fusible links and unfortunately they didn't provide much detail on how to replace one on a third gen, at least mine. I am unsure if this fusible link came stock to third gens, I would be interested to know what other members have? Any pics would be nice.

For those of you with more experience than me and feel I missed something, I welcome your comments and expertise. So thanks in advance!

This was my old fusible link. The previous owner had soldered the wire shown below which was hanging on by only one strand of copper. I took a hammer to the round plastic piece to see what was inside. Since it was hanging on by one strand, I would have to jiggle it to get it started....Not Safe!

Re: Fusible Link Replacement

I purchased from ebay GM part # 12186586 seen below, which comes from a 93-97 camaro. All of the other junction blocks that I found didn't have any type of top covering just as this one did. I did purchase the one with the nuts that screw on the posts. I did not necessarily want to find any that fit by making an unnecessary trip to the parts store.
