another wire connector question, interior

hello all!!
Small back story i have an 88 GTA fully loaded with all the bells and whisltes ( lucky me right ) well the P.O. did some "things" to the vehicle and i have a question, when i first got her home the antenna was stuck going down ( bad cable ) fixed that and it no longer runs indefinitely which is GREAT however it now wont go up. my first assumption was that the aftermarket radio was never hooked up with the antenna. well i was right to a point, the radio harness was RATHER hacked up, lots of open wires and missing things. connected the PINK wire to the blue ANTENNA wire coming out of the back of the radio, still didnt work. now here is the question, i traced the wires as far as i could and i got to an odd connector that i have no idea where it goes, i think it has something to do with why the antenna wont go up but i dont know so please HELP ME!

Re: another wire connector question, interior

Do you have a "Gain" sub-woofer button on your dash bezel ??

I wonder if your car might have had the optional Subwoofer system at one time.

IIRC the antenna relay is mounted behind the lower dash bezel on the pass side. ( the long thin one under the map pocket, not the 'hush' panel under the dash. ) There should be ORANGE & PINK wires leading to it, a BLACK ground, and GREY & GREEN wires leading away from the relay to the power antenna. ORANGE is power at all times, PINK is switched power from the radio plug.

When radio is OFF the mast goes down, when the radio is ON the PINK wire will become "live" and will power the antenna UP. If the cable is snapped the mast will not go UP or DOWN.

Re: another wire connector question, interior

yes i do have the gain button but of course its mostly all missing.... all i have is sail panel speakers that dont fit there... no dash speakers and i dont know what else is missing. the antenna is fixed it physically works but it doesnt work via the radio at all. i turn on tha radio and it doesnt come up the green white and grey wires are plugged into the relay but it still wont come up. what is that plug for btw?
