Dakota Digital SGI-5e - 1991 rs 305

I just wired a new SGI-5e to correct my speedo after changing to a posi rear with different gears. My speedo finally reads correct!

I used a few other threads for reference but I had to piece some information together so I figured I would make an updated post.

First, In my 91, I found that the VSS unit had a slightly different pinout than in the below thread, but the diagram was helpful.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...utput-ecm.html

The wire colors all matched my car, only difference was the 12V power and ground (corect colors) but were in the reverse locations.

I followed the instructions in this thread for the most part, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/electronics/661936-1992-tbi-700r4-dakota.html but did want to note some differences.
I tapped into power and ground according to wire color (pink/black is 12v and black/white ground), also the same yellow wire should be cut and looped through the SGI-5e. From the harness, the yellow wire goes to the "Signal In" on the SGI-5e, but instead of using "Output 4" as stated in the thread, I used "Output 1" to go into the VSS unit. "Output 1" is the calibrated AC Output that allows you to manipulate the speedo reading.
Other than that it is a super easy install, just thought I would make a few notes here to help anyone looking to wire in one of these new "E" version units.
