Car: 88 GTA Notch/01'WS-6 VERT
Engine: 5.0 LB-9/5.7 LS-1
Transmission: 700R-4/4L60
Axle/Gears: borg warner 3.27's
Voltage drop

91 z28 had my scanner plugged in and noticed a voltage drop when I put the car in gear charging system tests fine any ideas?

probably normal from the drop in alternator speed when placed in gear.Possible you have weak alternator/bad connection(s) what does voltage read when head lamps,heater blower,fans, etc are on and engine speed is at above idle RPM ?

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well.

Can test that theory by slightly raising the RPM in gear and see if that 1/2 volt is recovered.
