OP gauge summit racing
Okay fellas I have a question I'm connecting a summit racing oil pressure gauge to the car the car used to be a 91 rally sport V6 now it has a 350 with a small cam in it brand new oil sending unit electrical gauges I turn on the ignition after connecting the orange to the signal wire the black to the ground the red to ignition hot and left the purple disconnected because I don't care anything about it dimming. When I switch on the ignition the oil pressure gauge automatically pegs at 100 when I fire the car up it drops down to about 80 lb of pressure now I'm sure that I don't have that kind of pressure going on of course the best way to check is to put a mechanical gauge on it but considering the fact that not too long ago we're talking less than 500 mi this car only had about 35-40 lb of pressure at idle maybe and that was a cold out if I'm not mistaken so what could possibly be the problem could it be the gauge suite or the gauge testing that Camaros are known to do.??
