F/S PRO TOPLINE VORTEC HEADS, COMPLETE!!!
Hi,
Is anyone intrested in a set of pro topling vortec heads?
I just bought them and found out there not going to work with my set-up.
Here are the details on them.
COMPLETELY REMANED BY AN ASE MASTER MACHINIST. THEY HAVE BEEN BAKED AT 625 DEGREES AND SHOT PEENED. FOLLOWING THAT THEY HAVE BEEN MAGNUFLUXED TO ENSURE NO CRACKS(THERE WERE NOT ANY) THEN THE STUDS WERE INSTALLED. BOTH OF THE GASKET SURFACES HAVE BEEN MILLED TO ENSURE PROPER SEALING THE INTAKE ONLY HAD .004 TAKED OFF. THE VALVE GUIDES WERE THEN REAMED .015OS AND THE SEATS WERE CUT WITH A THREE ANGLE CUTTER. THE FIREDECK HAS BEEN MILLED .012. THE HEADS WERE THEN WASHED AND ASSEMBLED. THE VALVES ARE 1.94 AND 1.50 THEY HAVE DYNO TIME ON THE VALVES ONLY. THE SPRINGS ARE NEW AS ARE THE RETAINERS AND THE LOCKS(THEY ARE .030 HIGHER COMP. THAN FACTORY) THE VALVE SEALS ARE VITRON UMBRELLAS. THE CHAMBER CCS ARE AROUND 68, RUNNERS ARE, I BELIEVE, 180.
Looking to get what I paid for them $520 shipped
Let me know if anyone is intrested.
Thanks, JR

ive got a L03 and the combustion chamber size is 58 cc on stock heads, putting 68 cc heads on my engine would drop the compression way too low.

I have a 350 I'm building up.

Protoplines have super thick decks. They can easily be milled to 58cc. Bump for a nice set of heads. They have improvements over the standard Vortec. They came cast for studs, improved cooling, thicker decks and more meat in the ports for additional porting. I've got mine angle milled to 60cc with no problems.
