Hey guys, I have a set of Vortec heads, I bought them locally here in Windsor, they are casting number 059 from the Chevy 305, would be a great addition to a 305 TBI, or TPI car, a nice bump up in power. They are in really nice shape, I bought them from a local engine builder, he took them apart, and cleaned them up. I'd like to get $175 for them, I will sell them with new valve seals, as well.. I'm located in Windsor Ontario, You can reach me by PM, or posting here.

Too bad you can buy a set of brand new complete vortec heads from GM for $315. I would buy them if price was lower.
Really?
Could you post a link for a "set" (2) Vortec heads for $315 just so i will save it to my favorites.
$300 for a set of used vortec heads is definately about 50% high though IMO

I saw a set on here sell for that a while back, google it up.
Look. The only reason why I said anything in the first place is because of loustorm14's comment: "Too bad you can buy a set of brand new complete vortec heads from GM for $315. I would buy them if price was lower."
That is BS. A "set" (like I've already said about 3 times already) means "2" heads NOT "1" like the price he keeps spitting out.
I am trying to HELP you out Kevman and it's like you don't even realize it(???)
I am done here, good luck with your sale.

I'm not trying to tell you off or anything, and I hope you didn't take offence, I just can't believe that the new Vortec 350 heads are that cheap, I kinda want to buy a set..
i dont know what you were looking at but i know for a fact that i can get both heads for $315 at my local dealer....and yes they are brand new...may be something different you looked at

Does your local 'dealer' also sell crack cocaine and stolen flat screen tvs?
Look man, I've followed the Vortec head prices since they were first sold as an over the counter type head, and even then almost 15 years ago (when EVERYTHING was cheaper) you still couldn't get an assembled set(2 heads) for under $440.
Unless you local 'dealer' is going out of buisness or has actually taken over a GM dealership, there is no way they can afford to sell ANY brand new head for $157.50 each.
You know what loustorm14, why don't you just give me your zip code or one somewhere around your area and I will use that to see what price I come up with for TWO heads, NOT one like the website gives you a price for.
The 059 Vortec 305 head is not a performance head. They have the Vortec name but are not the desired head that most enthusiasts are looking for. Take a look at this website. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...26tbs%3Disch:1
The desired Vortec heads have heart shaped combustion chambers. Notice the 059 casting are D shaped and are designed like the stock TPI heads. Sorry, Kevman. Your heads maybe a nice replacement head for someone who is looking to replace a worn out head but there is no performance gain here.
$200 for a low mileage head, to me, is fair. From what I've been told on a stock 305, it's a nice improvement from the stock swirlport or TPI 305 heads, especially with a set of headers.
I also bump....You guys dont see the potential 305, cam, these heads with some porting an HSR on top slap a big stall in the tranny and with a good gear out back BOOOM!!instant street beater. No not a power house but a well thought out combo will make good ALL AROUND power with milage and run 87 octane all day.I dont know you man but good price for a set of 305 heads.Good Luck.
Doing research on this site, a bunch of people said they're a nice improvement, I was going to do it, but I can't afford to.. Insurance, or vortec heads..
145.11 CAD and you would have them next week from UPS, but like I've said on here before, shipping through freight would probably be substantially cheaper, and I would return you the difference, but I would get Pak Mail to package it, which runs about $15.
