Brand New JE Pistons for SBC 400

Full set of 8 brand new JE forged Pistons for 400 SBC with 6" rods. Std. bore. Perfect for new SPH Motown or Dart blocks...or someone lucky enough to own a good standard production block. I also could make it a nice rotating assembly. I have a brand new Series 9000 SCAT crank with 6" Lunati 4340 rods already cam clearanced for this combination.

$390 + shipping for just the pistons.

$700 + shipping for entire rotating assembly

What's unique about these custom JE pistons is they use a modern narrow ring package. This enables the rings to be used without a support rail for the pin area. Very desirable. The rings are off the shelf items supplied by most ring manufactures.

Re: Brand New JE Pistons for SBC 400

Sorry for the late reply. School has started and the kids own the computer for school.

The rods are Street Race I-beams forged from 4340. The bolts are ARP. The rods needed a little clearancing to clear the cam in this application. Lunati did the machine work. I ran the rods for about 5000 miles and sent them back to Lunati for reconditioning including magnaflux and new bolts. 0 miles since then.

The crankshaft is a brand new in the original box. It is a SCAT 9000 series which means it's a cast steel. Strength is between a factory cast and a forged unit. These are high quality crankshafts. This crank has never been laid flat....always stored upright. It is an INTERNAL balance. The advantages of this are many. First off, if you're doing a T56 swap on this motor, you have flywheel options. No bolt on flywheel balancers required!! They are alright for mild builds but have no place on high performance motors. This crank is 6" rod specific. You can go longer rod but not shorter because of the throw configuration to allow internal balancing.

The JE pistons are a custom run. It runs an LS1 style thin ring pack which allows the ring grooves to remain out of the pin area. Pin spacers can be tricky to set up. These pistons DO NOT require them. LS1 or thin ring packs are the latest trend. They really cut back on internal friction and have proven themselves for durability. Total Seal even makes a Max Seal or gapless top ring package so there is plenty of aftermarket support for these pistons. They are full floating and are compatible with the Lunati rods.

Your are right. This is a killer deal. The pistons alone cost $1100. Add another $250 for the crank and $500 for the rods and you can see the savings. It's all new except for the rods and they are as good as new.

I have a great wooden shipping box so you can be assured that the parts will arrive safe and in the condition I described. I have a spotless trader rating here, at LS1 tech and over 350 perfect transactions on Ebay.
Thanks for inquiring.

There is no block. I only have the JE pistons, the SCAT 9000 series crank and the Lunati Streetmaster rods.

Re: Brand New JE Pistons for SBC 400

I know. Mine cleaned up at .020". The bore looked great when I tore it down but I didn't measure the taper. It just missed on the taper. Stuff happens....
