Complete 92' L98...

...sort of. Im looking to replace this motor and was hoping you guys would help me determine a fair asking price on it.

Complete - all new sensors - plugs/wires - MSD - new starter w/remote solenoid - all accessories - valve cover gaskets - Doug Thorley headers - ECM and Painless harness.

Details: Unknown actual miles on motor, 2 PO before me did the swap, smokes a tad at start up; may need new rings? Otherwise is all original and runs well......I just want something stronger - 383.

So, as I try to calculate the overall cost of doing the swap, what do you guys think I might be able to recoupe by selling the motor? Ive seen local Cl ads for just the TPI going for $500-800.

Im not looking to rebuild, want as quick a turn around as possible, therefor the swap works best for me.

Re: Complete 92' L98...

I bought a brand new 355 TPI with cam roller rockers, etc, I gave the guy 800 only thing i had to get was egr. that was with harness also and ecm.
I would say 800-1000, smoking could be valve seals.

I'm not trying to bust your ***** or anything, but truthfully. i'd say $800 probably tops on the motor. most people looking for 350's now aren't looking and don't care about TPI's. some cruiser hot rods love them, but performance hot rodders will stay clear and wait for LSX motors. i have a 305 TBI with 148K Miles, MSD Wires, Ca, Rotor, Coil, new water pump, many other new parts and sensors,no smoking or leaking, and a good strong motor for sale for over a month for $600 (WITH a 700R4, torque converter, etc) and i have had Zero interest. i have it advertised as a complete ready to drop in setup from oil pan to intake, with accessories.

if you are willing to wait long enough i'd say you could possibly get between $500-$800 for it. not sure I'd expect more. i could be wrong, but thats my experience with motors thus far.

Re: Complete 92' L98...

Not busting my *****, I just didnt know where to start. All I can find locally is just the TPI system on CL so I really dont have any comps.

Hell, Ill take $500 for it.

Thx guys.
