Re: supercharger

I have a Paxton SN2000 kit. The head unit is brand new, never installed. The kit was mocked up and then uninstalled to sell the car without the supercharger. I got a great offer for the car so I was sold. I have a 70 Chevelle which I was going to adapt the kit to, but have decided to sell it to finance some body and paint work. If you are interested i will send you pics ect.
I will be listing it on ebay this weekend.

Re: supercharger

Denis,
I was going to use this kit on my 421 sbc with a blowthrough or carb box setup. The boxes and carb hats are available. You would just need to make up some custom tubing.
At this point, I really need to spend more on my body and paint work. I will post pics shortly.

Re: supercharger

Denis,
Here are a few pictures. The first is my head unit, the second is the same kit installed with a custom air intake in a camaro. All you would have to do is not use the discharge or TPI adaptor elbows and fab up a carb box or blowthrough setup. Those components can be sold off to someone looking to put together a tpi blower.

Re: supercharger

how much do you want for this, and this will fit an 87 305 tpi right? And if you will take payments for it, I got DIBS. I'll take it.

Re: supercharger

yeah, what kinda price range we talking. I am thinking about piecing together a turbo kit slowly over time so I am not sure if I want to drop the huge $ for this right now, but if the price is right Bob, I might have to kill all the little voices in my head and buy it, haha.

Let me know. later

Re: supercharger

If it is just over $1500, I can take it lump sum next week. (If I decide to go this route and not turbo by then.)

Re: supercharger

I am looking to get $2000. for the kit. That would be paid in full prior to shipping. I don't really understand the payment plan idea. If you want to pay via paypal by credit card I guess then you could buy the kit and pay it off.
As far as comparing this to a turbo kit that you put together, please add up all of the components. Even if you could get half of the parts for free, a twin turbo kit, with the additional fueling, ect. that you would have to deal with, would cost more than $2000.

This is a proven kit that can be used on a stock motor with the supplied pulleys and produce 5-6 lbs of boost. If you add alchohol injection (the fittings are already plumbed into the intake elbow) you can run a smaller pulley and get much more boost without a stand alone fuel injection system which you will need with a decent twin turbo setup.

The Paxton Kit can be installed in one day if you have decent mechanical skills. Putting together a turbo setup will take much longer due to the necessity to fabricate many of the required components.

No question if you are looking for over 1000 hp, turbos are the way to go. But plan on spending twice what I am selling this kit for. This kit will give you easy HP that you can increase with just a pulley change when you want more boost.

Look around on the Corvette sites, there are many people using this exact setup and are more than happy with the power and easy of installation and use.

PM me with any legitamate offers. I will be posting it on ebay shortly.

Re: supercharger

I am not looking for 1000hp. My car makes 350 to the rear wheels right now as is. I just want that little umph to get me to 450-500 RWHP. I have all the fuel system stuff already and the motor can easily take it, might need a different cam though.

Anyways, 2000 doesn't seem bad. I may consider it still. I am just getting into N20 and might still be happy playing with that.

Oh do you know if this is a loud SC?

Re: supercharger

This is a centrifugal ball drive unit not a gear driven supercharger. Most of the noise will be coming from the back tires trying to keep up with the power! Actually these Paxton units do have some "blower whine" but they are not as loud as say a noisy gear drive.

Depending on your intake side you can dampen or make louder the blower sound. With headers and an aftermarket exhaust you may not hear it at all. You will however feel the boost!

I guess that I will put it up on ebay. I know that it will sell there. I will post the link in this post.
