borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
Hey guys, I need a few parts so I can finish up my 9 bolt posi swap. I need a good axle, just for my passenger side, since mine on that side is bent. (wheel on pass. side doesnt roll right. and also the parking brake attachment mechanism on the Driver side. This is basically a peice that bolts on to the caliper which holds the spring and the part that the cable attaches to.(need the bolts included in that mechanism) I was hoping someone had these random parts and didn't need them anymore.
Thanks,
Wes
Thanks,
Wes

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
I have bracket and bolt, this came off Moraine caliper, is this the one you need and do you need the arm with weight also?
Let me know
If my 9 bolt complete doesn't sell soon I will part it out and have an axle for you.

Still need all parts.. the ones in the mechanism (needed for driver side) in the pics doesn't look like the one I have on the passenger side... And still need an axle on passenger side.

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
haha yeah probably so. I am pretty desperate for one. I can only find one anywhere and that is ebay, only problem is the guy is out of the office and keeps postponing his return date.

Is the Pass. side the long one or the short one? I used to run a nine bolt in my IROC but its been 6 years since I sold it. The axle collection is still buried in my storage area though!

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
I have been trying to research the difference in lengths, but I can't find anything except the fact that one is longer than the other, and the part number to the passenger side is 10033572.

I have an OEM '89 Camaro Manual and it may tell which is which. I'll dig it out and have a look for you.

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
OK, I dragged the OEM Camaro manual out of storage, and the two sets of axles.
Here's the deal:
-- The passenger side is the longer one - see the casting number suffix in the wheel attach flange hub - 928
-- The driver side has the same prefix but the suffix is - 927
I checked the manual and there is a good full page drawing of the whole assy. and it clearly shows the driver side is shorter.
I checked my axles and this is what I have:
#1 Set (L&R) has good bearing cones, inner bearing stop/retainers, outer bearing retainer plates and has had all wheel studs replaced with longer (OEM metric) ARP studs. These are from my '89 IROC (road) race car spare rear I had when I sold the car in 2004.
#2 Set (L&R) same as above but has had all studs removed. I have no real history on this set but they look as good as #1 set. I picked them up from a friend who was converting to a 4th gen GM 10 bolt.
I may have other parts for the BW rear but really don't want to dig further unless you give me reason to!

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
#1 - I ship from Canada via FedEx or UPS -- Probably huge bucks.
#2 - I ship from WA state after taking them across the border first.
I don't know what the deal will be if I show up at US Customs with a package the size and weight of a machine gun barrel. I have never exported to the US this way and it could be a PITA.
Better that you keep looking locally I think! And I probably should keep these as sets, I suppose.

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
If this falls through give me a shout, I have decided to go with a 9" and have a complete 9 bolt sitting (in the way) in the garage. It is in pretty rough shape so I don't think it is worth a huge pile of money complete so I might be willing to take the parts off it and scrape the rest. let me know...

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
I think I will pass. If I could have sold the axles too I think I could have recouped some of my costs and scrapped the rest. I don't want to tear it down for nickle & dime parts as I think it would be much harder to sell this unit incomplete.
Good luck with your search.

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
Is the p-b mechanism still an issue?
I have a very rusty old caliper, that you could probably cut/grind
off the parts needed. If its not the correct side, I may have the
other one laying around somewhere else. If needed, I can provide pics.
Good luck,
kk

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
actually i ended up finding a 4th gen posi rear with 3.42s the other day at the local U-Pull-It. took brakes and all for $100! it was in a v6 car. Needless to say I'm done with the borg warner rear.. its been the biggest pain in the butt... new housing, (setting it up inside new housing) remanufactured brakes, replacing an axle, and the problem now was gear whine.. but thanks for trying to help

Re: borg warner 9 bolt parts needed
I do have 2 of those. One has no wheel studs, the other has extra long ARP metric racing studs installed. Both have the axle bearing and keeper ring installed. I am in Canada though, so shipping will be worth as much as the axle(s) I think! Let me know.

If you still need this, PM me, I might be able to help.
It its what you need, I can do it for little-to-nothing,
plus whatever shipping will be from 77573 (Houston TX)
