my second 3rd gen
Hey guys,
I might be getting a 2nd thirdgen, a 1985 Iroc-z with a 305TPI and auto free with two catches. The guy is gonna yank the 305 tpi and put it in his 1984 T/A, and we're gonna put his 305 HO carb motor in the iroc. We plan on spending all day on it tomorrow. And I have to help him.
This is all fine by me because it'll be my daily driver, I'm used to carbed 3rd gens, they are cheaper to mod, and the chassis on this iroc is more solid than my firebird (less rust and body damage)
So anyway, what should we make sure to trade? We're gonna swap the motor, ECM, and engine wiring harness. Do we need to swap the distributers? Doesn't the iroc have an electric in-tank fuel pump? If so, should we just swap fuel tanks and lines to make it easier? Am I forgetting anything else? Is the emmissions equipment the same?
Thanks!
John
