battery drain after swap

not sure if this should go here or the electronics board, but......

I wasn't too concerned about this before, but now that I have the engine actually running, I'm having trouble with the battery holding a charge. I'm 99.99999% sure it's not a bad battery, I bought it new after doing the swap, while I was trying to get the engine to start, so something somewhere is drawing current

Can anyone give me ideas/suggestions as to where to look and what specific wires to check? it wasn't draining before the swap...

the only things the computer is connected to is the tach connector on the HEI coil and the VSS....I'm wondering if maybe it's related to the thermostat I put on the cooling fan....it's the type with a probe that goes in the radiator fins....but shouldn't that *not* draw current unless the fan's running?

I'm honestly thinking more towards a wire that isn't hooked up right somewhere, something I maybe missed during the swap.

What are the chances that the battery's going bad from 2 months of fighitng to just get the engine to start?
