350 Carb Questions
So I'm swapping a carbed 350 in place of my old tired LO3, and I had a few questions....First, it came with a Holley 4160 (or 4150, I forget which...). It's a 600 CFM carb, which I'm imagining isn't NEARLY enough, but hey, it was free. I'm wondering which manifold I should use, Performer, Performer RPM, or either of the two in air-gap form. Also wondering about clearance issues, and how tall of an air cleaner I would need to clear. Hood cutting isn't an option right now.
Also, will my engine be completely suffocating with the 600 on it? Money's pretty tight now, but if it's absolutely necessary that I get a carb that breathes better, I guess I could. What size should I go with, at least? What would be ideal? What brand?
Thanks in advance!

Get a performer rpm. its a better hi perfprmance manifold.
It will fit under a stock hood with a old gm muscle car drop base aircleaner. You have to shorten or remove the choke horn on your carb to use this aircleaner. use a14x3" filter element.
You can buy the aircleaner assembly or just the special base from
http://www.noahperformance.com/
With this GM aircleaner the performer rpm fits under your hood with room to spare.

A 600cfm holley is enough to feed a stock (or close to) 350. If it's heavily modified a 750 would be better. If you're running an auto a 4160 style (vac secondaries, pn 3310 for 750cfm) is reccomended, for a manual a 4150 style (mech secondaries, pn 4779 for 750cfm) is reccomended.
