estimate power
355 LT1 crank, rods, windage tray. GM Hotcam 218/228 525"lift, Double hump heads ported according to David Vizard. Edelbrock R.p.m. intake, Holley 770 Street Avenger carb, 1"5/8 long tube headers with 2.5" true dual exhaust. How much could I gain with better heads? What about a stroker kit?

Is this for a dyno war, street driving, drag strip, autocross?
Peak power isn't a very useful quantity. How quickly you will get from Point A to Point B depends upon a lot of different factors. For instance, I've taken 1.5 sec off my 1/4 mile ET without increasing power, but just taking better advantage of what was available.
Define "better heads". There are heads out there that may increase your peak power, but decrease average or usable power.
Going from 355 to 383 typically has the effect of ~8% increase or more in torque and HP, with the gains typically coming below 5252 RPMs.

Its in my 4x4, which I drag race and go mudding in. It isn't a dragstrip vehicle, I just race anyone who challenges. So far only one loss to a 92 TPI 350 Firebird with a few upgrades(cam, exhaust), but it was very close. At around 5100lbs it definately takes alot to move it. Peak power isn't what I am after, just more across the board. It actually has great pwer for the weight it moves, just need more. In reference to better heads, I would be reffering to maybe some AFR 195's or something of the sort. The stroker kit would probably give me the most gain as it would make more power across the board, right?
