carb to tbi what do I need to do?
What would I need to do in order to make a carbed 84 305 motor work in place of my 88 305 tbi motor.
I want to make the motor into a tbi motor because I dont want to deal with cold weather warmup and damp weather hesitation of a carb. My TBI is a dog but at least i can go as soon as it starts!
Any way I know I need to use my 88 distributor, can I bolt my serpantine setup on? Do I need to use my 88 water pump?
Do I need a new tbi intake or will my 88 fit? Someone told me I might have to elongate a few bolt holes wich is correct?
Do I need to use the starter and flex plate from the 88? or do I have to buy new stuff since the 84 is a two piece rear seal and the 88 was a one peice.
I need a new camshaft too right? Wich one should I pick? I don't want to mess with chip programming but it would be nice to get one that is better than stock.
What else do I have to do?
