191 V6 to 400SB V8

Guys i got a wee-tad of a problem. I just got a chevy 400 carborated small-block that is in great condition. My bird has a little V6 TBI that is running good but in about i would say a year it will be time to swap. My question is when im ready to swap what all will i have to do. Thanks

subframe connectors are a must.
It depends on the build up.
is it an auto or 5 spd ?

how much HP and torque will the engine produce ?

, subframe connectors are a must. Even if you don't put in a larger engine.

Profile says auto, so let's assume he's got TH700R-4. Regardless, doesn't matter, because neither V6 tranny works with a V8 (you can "force" the T5 to "work", but not the bellhousing).

The sticky is intended to cover what needs to be done to take out a factory V6 and put in a V8.

What you do to handle power is a completely different topic.

But, you need to get a different transmission. It needs to be built to handle whatever the 400 puts out when you get done with it. Same with the rear end - the factory unit will handle it if you don't go crazy, but will lunch itself with the torque a 400 can be made to put out when coupled with traction. Same with the chassis/suspension, it will be okay for daily driving and mild strip use (assuming you do SFC's), but you start putting down some numbers you're going to want better than stock.
