383 Oil Pan
Can a OE oil pan from a 305 or 350 be used on a stroked 350 (383)? I recentley had a 383 built and the pan they gave me is supposed to be for the F-body. The motor went in OK with no clearance issues, but the Dyno Don y-pipe is not clearing under the pan. I forgot whether a 1 or 2 piece rear main is used on the 383, will that make a difference in the pan, or just the gasket?
I guess I'd rather switch the pan up to accommodate the y-pipe rather than hacking it up if possible. But then again, looks like I'd have to pull the motor again to replace the pan, maybe it is easier to hack up the y-pipe, seems like I would need to add about a half an inch to each side so the y-pipe hangs a bit lower...
Thanks
