What can be removed?
If you're going to a carb motor, and are keeping the Electric fuel pump, what ECU wires need to be left in? I know that I'll need too leave the Fuel pump wire, but is there anything else coming out of the ECU that will be needed to run the carb engine? Seems sorta silly to have one or two wires running to the ECU and the rest of them cut out, but if that's what needs to be done...
Is there a write up on this that I'm not seeing?

just run a power wire on a switch or off the accessory wire on your ignition switch, your going to need a different fuel pressure reg though, one that drops it to 6-8 psi and is made for electric pumps

I've taken the 454 out and I'm putting a 383 in, just wanting to clean up the bay in between engines...already have the regulator. I'm thinking I may just follow the wires and cut the ones that I don't need...

yah you dont need anything special then, just someway to provide power to the fuel pump when the key is on, probably the best way is a power wire with a crimp connenector on the accessory power wire(on of the ones you slide over the current wire then slide the end of the new wire into and crimp it down). that lets you ditch the entire harness and computer since really thats all the computer is doing is providing 12v to the fuel pump from the accessory wire

I swapped my 305 TBI for a 350 carb, and I left all the wiring in tact, and I'm loving it! Here's why:
I have an endless supply of in-cabin to under-hood wires for all kinds of stuff! I installed the foglights that my car didn't have, I installed an aftermarket fan controller with manual switching, under-hood lights, etc., so on. And whenever I need a wire from in-cabin to under-hood, I have numerous 'cleanly installed' wires, with no fear of rubbing, no firewall drilling, and no contorting my old body to get one more wire out there!
For things like the fog lights that require more load than these small ECM wires can handle, I use the ECM wires to power under-hood relays. It's just nice to have an endless supply of wires to utilize!
