unplug all of your sensor. unbolt the engine ground straps. remove radiator. power steering pump remove the return and pressure lines, if re-using unbolt it from bracket and move aside. undo tranny cooler lines from radiator. remove through bolts in the motor mount.
those are just things attached. i may be missing some.
transmission - unless you are pulling it too, then disconnect the tranny crossmember and torque arm mount, remove driveshaft pinion bolts and remove driveshaft, and shove a Tylenol bottle in the tailshaft to keep all the tranny fluid from leaking out.
I pulled the 350 TPI out of my 91 Z28 with the tranny attached by just unplugging all the wires and ground straps, radiator, tranny lines, unhook fuel lines and powersteering lines, disconnect driveshaft. even left the crossmember on the chassis. undo VSS and TCC cables too.
P.S. a load leveler makes this task a hundred times easier

agree on all points here. also, if you are just removing the wires from the sensors label them. there are a lot of connectors that look the same under the hood, labelling will make the install much quicker.
