I have a 1988 GTA with a L98 and 700R4 and would like to install a 1998 LS1. Any information or links would help.

For starters you will need a complete engine (block, intake, harness, ecm, ignition, and so on) you will also need the trans. Will this have AC? Its kinda like doing a V4/6 swap to a V8... you are better off buying a doner car. I think you need to fab some engine mounts, but i am not sure.

One of our junkyards here got a totaled 97 T/A and I asked about the price on the lt1 just for the sake of asking. I really couldnt afford it right now. They wanted either 4000 or 4500. I thought that this might be high for an lt1. That was all wiring computer and tranny.

Here is my new website about the ls1 to 3rd gen swap.
it includes dyno charts, lots of pics, and a description of how I did it.
