EGR Valve & CCU Return Line

Hey All,

Canadian member here. Just got pulled over by a Ministry of Transportation Cruiser today and they told me that my engine was lacking an EGR valve and CCU return Line. Apparently this is a $365.00 fine.

My aftermarket (Crate/turn key) 5.7 litre V8 was not equipped with an EGR valve, nor does it seem to have a place for one. Is this something I can have installed?

Thanks all!

Re: EGR Valve & CCU Return Line

You have to get an intake equipped with an EGR passage.

Re: EGR Valve & CCU Return Line

Doesn't something also go into one of the valve covers on this system? Is the air breather involved as well?

No. The EGR passages are built into the intake manifold. The valve bolts onto the side if the intake.

I'm not sure what "CCU return line" means, but I'd guess it has something to do with the vapor recovery system. Did you remove or do something to the charcoal canister?
