well was going to change the gears in my rear end and make it posi till i called up the junk yard. they said that had a posi rear(3:08) for $250 so i thought it was a good deal. my rear was in good shape but i thought it would be easier. i gave them mine they took it back and brought out a rusted out ... i mean rusted out rear end. i should have said give me mine back but i didnt. anyway i tore it apart and redid everthing i could, replaced all the seals and put some major elbow grease into it... and a wire wheel and this is how it turned out.

heres the last, for a junk yard rear that was rusted up pretty bad i think it turned out ok. and i'm that much closer to getting this thing on the road.

can someone give some advice on spark plugs for the this build? i'm using a 100hp shot of nos and dont know if i should be doing anything different with the plugs.

i'll say it before anyone else does... I'M STUPID. fired my car up today wow it shook my garage. my problem... i didnt put that timing tab thingy on it, ya i know. if youv read my stuff you know i'm kinda a newbie to motors so my question which might be even dumber then me not putting the timing thingy on is can it be timed with out that? if so could you tell me how. i pointed the distributor to #1 and it fired right up first try and sounded amazing(wow what a rush for me lol ) also how do i tune this motor in? carb and etc? i have an edlebrock 650cfm carb it was not bought new the screws are where ever the last guy had them... please help.

Hey before you mess something up go ahead and put the timing tab on. What kind of dissy do you have? Once you set the timing then you can work on the air/fuel mix.

thanks big dog. i plan on putting it on this weekend. so i should just leave the motor off till i get that on and the timing light ready. *sigh* that sucks lol

i have a video of the first time i started it but not sure how to load it here. this being the 1st motor iv built.. when started it and sounded as mean as it did i was shaking with excitement lol my garage was rattling lol i lightly tapped the gas and the response was unreal. i guess port matched and polished heads makes a big difference. i should have a video of it driving with a week i would think.

i'm in michigan. i have it listed in the camaros for sale section. i have 9k into and id let it go for $5500. after 7 of these cars and this not being the only one of those 7 that is fast painted crazy im just ready to move on. with working on my wife 68 stang i'm ready for something new and modern. florida's not that far of drive come get it lol or id trade for something else fast

thanks big dog. well hey if i could get you to come up here for a day and help me get it tuned id change my mind lol thats what kinda just made me say forget it. its just above my ability to time/tune and work out some of the finishing touches, its all small stuff but *sigh* ya know. the trans has a lock up converter kit in it and i thought i had it hooked it up right(the power lead going to the trans) but i dont feel over drive.... i'm just frustrated. the car is sick fast. my last camaro ran 12.3 and i'm positive this camaro would EASILY smoke it... its so cool but i'm so frustrated lol if anyone knows some one in the area or someone willing to come to me id make it worth there while.... help a desperate 3rd gen owner lolol

Lol i feel ya. I might be able to work something out. What lock up kit do you have and who put it in? What carb and dissy are you running and to tune it I'm going to need to weld a WBO2 sensor bung into the exhaust pipe so I can get some air/fuel readings. As long as you have the jets for the carb and stuff for the dissy it can be tuned in a day.

bigdog if your serious i'd so make it worth your while. if you told me what to have ready id get it and i can collect all the info you need. the trans was built at a shop and i bought if off a friend of mine who lost the papers on it. it was supposed to hold up to 800hp. it shift great 1st threw 3rd they thats as high as it goes. i'm not worried that something is broken i just think i did something wrong. anyway let me know and i'll do what ever is needed. jets, tools, tunes in the garage and an endless supply of pizza will be at your disposal lolol
