Good engine combo?

Block: 10067353 Brand New Goodwrench 350 Engine
Pistons: .020 like stock pistons
Cam: PRO-2000 195°- 210° duration at .050”
Intake: Holley Street dominator
Heads: casting #33417369, 1.94" Intake valve, 1.50" Exhaust Valve, 76cc Combustion Chamber.
Carb: Edelbrock 4bbl
Stock it says the engine should have 250 hp and 350 lb of torque.
I hope I have increased the performance by a little but I'm worried about the low compression with the heads.
I have a buddy with 376450 60 cc heads and was wondering if they would be better for my setup.

Probably not. Small valves, I'd guess, and poor ports.

Re: Good engine combo?

What if I got them ported and polished? I know the heads I have now are smogger heads and figured might as well upgrade the heads while I'm busy putting every new part on it.

You would be better served getting a set of Vortec heads, which would mean selling the intake you have.

Can't say I've heard of those before. Part of the reason Vortec heads work so well is the design of the intake ports. They are bare castings, so you would have to add valves, springs, seals, retainers, and keepers. Most likely some other work to match the valves & seats (I certainly wouldn't trust them without being looked over by a competent shop). I'd say there is some significant risk there.

No risk here: http://sdparts.com/details/scoggin-d...ter/sd8060akit
