Re: Weighed my trans am today....
The only reason I would want to know just the car's weight is to know how much weight is in the trailer when it's hauled to the track. Since the car can't drive itself, I need to know the total weight that the engine has to move so that includes the driver.
My race weight, how much is sitting on the starting line, is very similar to yours including the front to rear ratio. I'm closer to 3030 pounds total including the driver. These cars are very nose heavy no matter what you try to do to them. If I had to take a guess, I'd say the car's weight is around 2860. I'd love to have a race weight of 2800 but trying to find another 200 pounds to remove is difficult. I always seem to be adding something else instead of removing.
Even still, a third gen is usually never that lightweight. Typical weight is in the 3300-3500 pound range so you have at least 200 pounds less weight than normal.
When weighing the car, I do the front and rear weights to calculate the ratio but also get all the wheels on just to make sure the total equals the front and rear. Sometimes my front and rears don't sit on the scale properly and don't equal the total.

Re: Weighed my trans am today....
adding the driver is easy, im 180. yea, i could cut alot of weight, ive still got full interior like i said, the ls1 drops the front weight down quite a bit, and the 9" added to the rear, i remember installing the 9", seemed like it was 2x the weight of the 10 bolt lol. I still want to put lighter seats in the front, and remove the backs. could also go fiberglass on the hood, and maybe an aluminum center section for the 9"

I am at 3500lbs on a chassis cross weight scale for race car chassis setup. I'll give you 150lbs between the LS1 and no A/C. Otherwise our setups are similar. Plus your 9" has to weigh more than my 9 bolt.

That weight sounds incredibly suspect. Was this at a truck stop or something? I would expect your car to be around 3300lbs in your trim.

Re: Weighed my trans am today....
it was a truck scale, but i stood on it and it said 180.....thats what i weigh. so even if it was a few pounds off, it was still around 3100.

I would imagine if it was even a couple pounds off on your body weight, it could be off by a large margin on a 3000+ pound car.
