350 swap questions.
Ok, so I don't know if this is where all of these Q's go but here we go.
So I have my 85 SC w/ 305 carb'd w/ 700R4. Swapping in a 350 from a 78 C-10 which had a 350 tranny. From my understanding the blocks are the same and it should be a direct swap w/ a few differences in plug locations and the dipsitick tube on the other side.
My first issue thus far, I went to put the 350 on the stand and the bolts that we used on my friends 305 to hold it on the stand, didn't fit, wrong thread size. If I use the bolts from the 350/350 combo will they fit my 350/700 combo?
2nd, I'm looking for a rebuild kit, gasket wise. but alot of them have the either new piston heads or piston rings, and so on, but I don't THINK i need all of that. What would be a good rebuild kit? and btw, I don't plan on having the block bored.
Sorry this is long but I just want to do this right.
