Lq4 swap questions

hi everyone, my dad and i are trying to put a 2006 6.0 into this 78 cutlass. I am on this site about this because i have an 89 camaro so i became a member of this fourm and motor wise of the swap should be the same, but if anyone would know how to answer my questions that would be great. The motor is in and the wiring is almost completed. hope to have it running soon.

First is the coolant lines to the trottle body. How do i delete this? it has DBW throttle body. The one line coming out looks like it once went to a tank. Is this what some people call the steam line and from what i hear you have to have this line hooked in somewhere.

second is the power stearing pump has the third hose for hydroboost breaks. can we just block that line off and use vacume for the stock booster in the car? and have everything with the stearing still work?

thanks for your help

No idea on your particular engine but is usual to have a line in and a line out of the TB.You would need to join the two together bypassing the TB
Some help here maybe?

I don't see why not , it just runs through the H/B and the return line goes back to the P/S reservoir

Re: Lq4 swap questions

ok thanks, i thought i could just bypass the TB but the other side seems to have went to a tank so that is what im wondering about. if i can just run that back to the water pump or something. just wondering what other people did when they swaped these motors.

In the link I posted above
" steam lines.
It seems that a line must come off the radiator (not the overflow line) and tie into the steam lines.....the connection to the throttle body is not required.
I chose to plug off both ports under the throttle body for now. I connected my plumbing directly to the extra port on the radiator"
.

If it is only a steam line I don't see why you can't T it into the heater return line like the Vette L98 did
Is only a means of letting air / steam get back to the radiator from the engine
