WILL A 307 BOLT IN?
hey guys i got a question for yah that might sound a little weird. Do any of you know if a 307 will bolt in to a 86 t/a t-5? If you are wondering why i am swapping a 305 for a 307 its cause my 305 is just done and a freind of mine has a running 307 that he would give me for 200 bucks. for me i just like driving my car and i wont have the money to do a big engine and trans swap till at least next year. So i was thiking put in the 307 and driving the car for a bit like that till i can get what i want. But do you guys think it will work?

As long as it is a sbc 307 and not a olds 307 it will work. Only notable differences will be if the 86 305 is a 1pc RMS then the flywheel will be different from the 307's 2pc and the dipstick will be on the D/S instead of the P/S. Regardless you can easily make it work.

If you reuse the intake manifold from the 305 everything will go right back where they were. Carb and computer should work fine with the 307. Maybe some fine tuning to the carb but it should all be close.
