1990 Firebird Formula Engine Swap
So I am starting a new project and am wondering if I could get some help with how to do and engine swap. I pulled out a 355 stroker as it was blown and not able to be rebuilt. I am purchasing a 305 V8 with a factory TBI system. I have all the parts to convert the 305 to a TPI set up. What I am wondering is if I could just bolt in the engine into the existing 4 speed trans or do I need anything else to do so? I have a torque converter also will I need a flywheel or will that come on the 305 engine assembly? Thanks!

Please don’t buy a 305. Humongous waste of time, money and effort. There are 350’s out there everywhere for cheap, just gotta look around.
The 4 speed would bolt up, and automatics use flex plates whereas manual transmissions use flywheels.
