I think im getting a 350 soon

I have this friend with a very nice 72 chevy pick up. bright orange and everything perfect. he bought the truck, and about a month later he had the oil changed. the place drained the oil and didnt put any new in? so they bought him a brand new gm crate engine (350). since then he has put in a very "lumpy" luiniti (sp*) cam. edelbrock perfromer intake manifioil. 670 edelbrock carb. msd distribiter, msd box, new heads (cast iron, pretty sure they are world products)... he had it on a dyno and they told him it was putting 390 horsepower to the rear wheels. his truck is so nice and fast... well now him and his dad have finally got there 383 stroker done. so he's selling his 350. it has near 10,000 miles on it. but i know everything is tuned and runs great. he told me if i gave him another 350 block he would let me have it for 1,800 bucks or 2 grand with out another block. i think im going to do this. but when i swap it into my trans am which has the 305 and then auto 700r4 tranny will i need to swap much more. i know the starter, alt water pump will all work. but will i need a new flex plate? and what else am im going to need. (he's selling everything from the oil pan to the air cleaner)... so is there going to be a lot of hidden cost? and emmissions are not a problem for me at all. so i dont have to worry about any of them. what do you guys think?
