Not a thirdgen but anybody got any suggestions??

In addi tion to my Camaro i have a 98 chevy S-10 with a 4 cylinder, it's my daily driver.
Two days ago i decided to take off the muffler and run the exhaust out of the cat. I did this to my last camaro(92 RS LO3), which was my daily driver and had no problems. Today my service engine light came on. There are no sensors past the cat and i thought the cat would provide enough back pressure.
Anybody have any ideas on this??

I am gonna put the muffler back on today, hopefully the light will go off after that, I'll keep you updated.

It has a very restrictive filter assembly that i am planning to remove and make an assembly out of PVC and a k&n.
Could the intake restriction be the problem?

I'm not trying to hot rod a 4-banger, just get some extra passing power.
Thanks.

ok put the muffler back on, no change.
light still on. When i looked under my hood i had left a sensor disconnected that hooks in just after the air box. I hooked it back up and have unhooked the battery cable several times to reset the system.

THE DAMN LIGHT IS STILL ON!

anyway i'm gonna take it to GM tomorrow or monday and get them to check it out.
It still runs fine so hopefully i didn't mess up too much.
