quite system on the freeway but still mean.

does anyone have a system that is quite on the freeway when cruising say 2500 rpm and up but still has a mean sound, good flow and worth buying.

yeah, yeah! i hear hooker allot but is it some what quite on the freeway is the real question. i just went to north carolina for the holiday and took my iroc. big mistake, huge mistake. its fine around here in VA where they are so **** the speed limit is 55 but once i hit NC and speed goes up to 70 and i'm going between 80-90 to keep with traffic the tone of my flowmaster 80 gets really annoying. its just to damn loud on the open road for 3 hrs.

dont get me wrong around town the car sounds great but the next road trip i take in it i am wearing ear plugs above 65-70 mph.

You just gotta love NC. My dad has true dual Flowmaster 40 series with no cats and SLP heads on his 403 BB Trans Am(1979). NOW THAT! is loud.

Check out SLP's Catback system, nice sound driving at low to med speed and will not drive you crazy on the freeways.

well it depends on what RPM u cruise on the freeway. after i put on my 80 series my car was ALOT louder on the freeway, but after a while u DO get used to it and its not annoying anymore. 2500 RPMS wont be too loud,

and also, interior resonance has a ALOT to do with where the exhaust exits at, when i put on my 80 series, i had it exit right from the muffler with NO tips. and it shook the dash and was VERY loud in the car, after i put on my 3.5" tips that exit behind the car, its A WHOLE LOT quieter inside, but even louder behind it.

well my flowmaster has dual 3.5 in chrome tips on it already so it exists out the rear pretty far. actaully its a ******* exhuast system, who else but a ******* would take a 3 in. I pipe and weld in 2.5 in pipe so you can run a 2.5 in/outlet flowmaster. the converter is rednecked to since it is rusted so bad i cannot get it off and they welded the egr tube on.

if you cannot tell i am going to be replacing everything on the exhuast side. my only problem is i dont think this particular exhaust is going to get any quiter. me and my wife felt like we went to a rock concert even the day after the trip, so getting used to it on freeway trips in NC would just mean i am going deaf. below about 70 mph the tone is easily dealt with, but about 75 it just keeps getting louder.

That's an AIR tube on the cat, not an EGR.
