I have a 1992 Z28 5.7 , I live in north flordida so we have no emissions tests at all , I was considering taking the cats out , It has the dual cat option , what will this cause , besides the increase in emissions and flow?

Well what are those two pipes running into each cat , and when I remove the cat will it cause any error codes or will my car run funny or have any negative effects?

those 2 tubes might just be from the smog pump that pump air into the cat so it will heat up quicker and burn more gas fumes and stuff ....and i dont know if it will give you codes but your car will run fine with out them and all that stuff

The tubes are for the Air Injection Reaction system. They put more air into the cats to aid in the conversion of the exhaust gases. It has nothing to do with warming up the cats quicker.

Removing them will not throw any trouble codes.

Thanks for the info five7kid , I would have guessed that because there arent any electrical connections going into the cats , but I wanted to make sure. How much louder will it be ?

loud enough for people to call you a redn3ck, but not as loud as a 4 cylinder. It will sound terrible when u are goin over 40 and let off the gass...it will rumble and pop

Thats only some cases (more likely for people who have a manual transmission). I can let off at 5000 rpm and not have one snap, crackle, or pop
