Is anyone running Longtubes->NO cats->SLP loudmouth?
My hooker exhaust is sounding sort of quiet these days, and I was thinking of switching to SLP loudmouth. I love the way it sounds on "cat-ted" cars but I have heard an LS1 with no cats and the loudmouth and it sounds awful, it is real poppy sounding. I don't want mine to sound like that, but I want max flow and a loud sound.

you may as well save the money and run stait pipe IMO.
the loudmouth is just a resonator and sound like a bit quiter version of open exhuast to me.
I prefer the tone of a actuall muffler. If you want loud get the slp loudmouth and just put a muffer in place of the resonator. you could try a magnapck, race bullet, xr-1. bacially any round muffer. this way you can get the volume and not the crappy sound.
I am sure you can off the resonator on ebay.

imo I'd go with the borla xr-1 or dynomax bullet over the SLP loudmouth. Two reasons - The SLP loudmouth is a hollow tube and sounds like it, both the bullet and xr-1 have actual reasonance tuning inside of them that makes it sound awesome. And secondly, the SLP loudmouth is insanely expensive for - quite literally - something I could make in my backyard. Compared to $35 for a bullet.
imo an LS1 sounds like **** no matter what, at least when compared to a similar SBC.
Headers + !cats + slp lm = gross. substitute the borla or dynomax for the slp and you'll be happy with the sound, and a few bucks richer.
