Glasspacks or bullets???
I want you guys to vote on this please! After I pass my E-test I'm going to put hooker long tubes on my car with maybe an H-pipe and am undecided on what mufflers to run? I want maximum flow and wild sound. I know alot of people don't like the glasspack sound but I really do but heard that bullets flow better. I'm thinkin of flowtech redhots , purple hornies or dynomax bullets? Your votes please. Thanks!

bullets, imo, sound WAY better. They also look like they flow a little better, although I've never seen a test.

Bullets sound like crap. They flow very nicely, but shouldn't be considered for anything but a mufflers-required track-only car.

Compared to a nice street muffler, yeah they do sound bad. So really only get one if you like NOISE and lots of it!! Personally I don't think straight pipes are loud enough, so I'm all set with it
Or go the expensive route and get GMMG

Whats GMMG? So you guys that say no to bullets, are you voting for glasspacks? I have a single tailed bullet catback on my car right now and I love it. But my friend has an 02GT with purple hornies and I absolutely love the way it sounds. I'm thinkin about the redhots, they are cheap and I heard that they are loud. Anyone???

I wouldn't vote for either one.
A chambered or ceramic wool packed would be much better.

I don't want any restrictive chambered mufflers. They are set up that way in order to produce a tone like flowmaster. My concern is free flowing exhaust. If you want a muffler, something like a dynomax ultraflow would be pretty hard to beat. I love the way glass packs sound. My friends 02GT (purple hornies) sounds better than ANY flowmastered or equivalent mustang of that generation I've heard. Its such a revy wild sound.

ive never been a bullet fan but recently installed them on my car (theyre 3-1/2) and not only are they alot quieter than expected but they dont sound bad like some other cars i have heard with them. i hate glasspacks though too much of a old school mud truck sound.

It's loud, sounds BADASS everywhere in the powerband and is all around a great buy. Unfortunatly it's a little pricey, but used ones can be had for 400-500 dollars. And you CAN use a 4th gen system, fi that's all you can find used. The exhaust tech is just going to have to do a little fabbing for your I and S pipes.

It sounds great and looks like a good set-up. Unfortunately thats got to be the most over priced piece of merch. I've ever seen $700 u.s???. Anyone can get a 2 piece 3" dynomax I pipe with a bullet and one tail or turn-down for under $200 and would easily out perform that chambered system. Anybody who buys that system for even $500 is mentally handicap!

Actually it has probably the best sound that you will ever hear on the road. The catback is simply awesome in real life, and even has the ability to make an ls1 sound good, as unlikely as that may seem
And it also flows AWESOME. Unfortunately as you say, the price is high. For that reason I wouldn't get it.
However I do have to agree with you on the flow of the bullet. I have removed my I pipe and ran an open Y at the track, and gained absolutely nothing. My best time has actually been with the I pipe in properly.

i personally think true duals with bullets on the LS1's sounds better than the GMMG system
its not a bad sound tho, i like it. definately a cool setup
i am trying to come up with a system like that on my own... using dynomax bullets but i might just put one tube chambered muffler in the I-pipe section and leave it at that.. it will be cheaper that way and easier
for true duals on a fbody, wild sound and max flow is only found by using race oriented mufflers or the dynomax ultraflo but its not as wild sounding
go with bullets.. if your using cat converters at all, it will sound really nice, without them, it will be loud but a great sounding loud IMO. get the longest bullets you can. i think 2.5inch bullets only come up to 12 inch long bodys. a 16-18 inch body would be perfect.
else you can do this....
