new exhaust system

Thinking of replacing my original exhaust system (still original) on my 85 TPI.
What do you think I should put on her? Hooker? What is the best in your opinion?

Yes, IMO (and there'll be a lot of opinions, I suspect). Here's the direct fit system I used on my 85: Hooker 2055's (Jeg's 520-2055). Catco high-flow converter (Summit CTO-9118). Hooker catback (Summit HOK-16823HKR).

With exceptions......

Hooker 2055's with Y-pipe - Yeah, consider getting them coated for extra$ (worth it, coated or not).

Check your so-called I-pipe, (intermediate? pipe) that is currently on the car, odds are it is too small. When I bought my 89 350 Formula 2 years ago, it had an exhaust replacement installed for something like a V6 I'm guessing, 2.0" or smaller? I bought the Borla cat-back system (love it, but $), had to buy a new I-pipe and shorten it up. Bought the I-pipe from O'reilly's, it was the entire piece from the cat to over-axle...just cut it back to fit the Borla.

Clarification.... the I-pipe is the piece between the cat and muffler.

I have Hooker shortys with a Magnaflow LT1 catback. Sounds friggin awesome and the quality rocks. I'll never buy anything else. Here's a video clip. It's about 20mb.

I currently run Edelbrock TES headers, dual thrush cats and a 3" flowmaster exhaust. I absolutely love this setup. Several guys in the car club have switched their setup to this.
