What do you think of this exhaust combo?
I have an 89 RS that had a 305TBI but i put a 350 in it, and kept the TBI. Right now it has factory exhaust manifolds on it and a Dnomax cat back. Since i am now storing the car i will be doing the exhaust in a couple of weeks. I plan on getting the Edelbrock ti-tech coated headers for the camaro with the y pipe into a 3in collector. And then for Cat Back i want to do the Edelbrock 3in DOR. So basicall a complete 3in system. I will be rinning no cat and no AIR so i will just plug the AIR inlets on the Headers. And for no Cat i plan on just putting a straight through 3in piece of pipe where the Cat would be.

I have no personal experience with Edelbrock headers, but I'd suggest a search on this site before plunking down your cash, then compare them with Hooker 2055's.

Just a follow up, the Header and y pipe from summit or jegs is $400 and it is ti tech tech coated to a 3in collector. The cat Back is Stainless and 3in tips and 3in downpipe. of course Mandral bent tubing (i think that is how to spell) From either Edelbrock or Flowmaster. and That is $335

as far as i hear trhe hooker 2055's are pretty much the best headers and they include a y-pipe w/ 3" collector

I have the Edelbrock shorties on my angry 305. I dont know why people get on here and run their mouths about how bad Edelbrock headers are for our cars. I have run them for years now, about 50,000 miles and had no leaks and no issues. My 305 runs pretty good, so I dont think the edelbrocks are as bad as everyone likes to say they are.

I believe when I started to research the Edelbrock catback I found that it wasn't really 3 in, but actually used a 2 3/4 in pipe. That was either in the Edelbrock catalog or Edelbrock website.

Hay I have the edelbrock cat back with flowtec headers y pipe and a catco converter on my carbed Gm crate 350 . I have no air in the header or cat .I bought the catco because I had no way to fab up the strait pipe where the cat would go . It is 3 inch system from the cat back but is necket down to meat the cat . I am happy with the sound for a assless 350 but would buy the 2055s if I was to do it agian ,and will when power is added . A friend of mine has a type of edelbrock headers (part #I do not know)and they have a stange apperance under the hood . The nuber one and two exhaust tubes go kind of up and strait back .The edelbrock cat back system is nice and I am very pleased with it . The reson I bought it is ,the tail pipes look stock unlike the flowmaster . The muffler is just like the flowmaster .Hope this helps

I have been running Edelbrock headers on my 305 for 10 years and no leaks! Edelbrock make a quality product. I have not heard the Edelbrock exhaust so I cannnot say but I do like my flowmaster cat back system. Just sounds..........MEAN.
